| UCL will be holding an informal one-day interdisciplinary workshop on Monday 15th December 2003, from 9a.m. - 5.30p.m. in the Chemistry Department, 20 Gordon Street. The aim of the workshop is to bring together prominent research group leaders in the physical and life sciences at UCL and at centres within London. We shall discuss emerging research areas which can be tackled best with multi-discipinary, cross-departmental and possibly cross-faculty approaches. Our aim is to stimulate further collaborations and new avenues for exploration. the day has been based around four emerging areas. | ||

| Speakers will give short talks, introducing their area of research, the problems that can be tackled and where the research could benefit from input from other disciplines. There will be a discussion period at the end of each session. | ||
| There is no registration charge for this workshop and lunch will be provided. The meeting will be followed by a wine-mixer to allow further discussion. | ||
